<Out Into The White> is a pataphysical photoproject by the Swiss artist Ursle Schneider. (Pataphysics is the science of imaginary solutions for non-existent problems!) The exhibition <Out Into The White> is about the polar landscape in winter.
“Searching for images that represent this feeling that touches me so deeply while beeing out in this archaic landscape. Knowing to be only able to find pataphysical solutions.” Ursle Schneider visited finnish Lapland many times before she left last winter for four weeks. Alone. Together with her largeformat camera Sinar. Storm, northernlights, snow and ice – in her photographs she is searching for atmospheres representing the magic of Lapland with her own esthetics.
Ursle Schneider was born in Bern, Switzerland. She studied photography in Vevey (CH) & Lahti (FIN) and did her Master studies at the Art Academy in Helsinki. At the moment she lives and works in Basel, Switzerland. Her media is photography, on the edge of classic photographs, she presents her pictures in combination with objets and texts in form of installations. She had couple of group and solo exhibitions, the most significant so far was a solo exhibition in Gallery Hippolyte in Helsinki.
Openings on Saturday 09.03.2013 klo 18–20.
