 Thematic call:  Alien threshold

This year Young Arctic Artists exhibition invites artists to investigate the paradigm of contemporary human alienation and experiences in all of its aspects – personal, social, political, existential, philosophical, sensorial, technological, ecological and scientific.

As the permeable membrane, life transcend from one body to another and within oneself lies our own reflection, an awareness that lives consciously and unconsciously, collectively - yet alone.

Alien threshold is a zone of infinite dichotomies where all possible odds exist, but inevitably become negotiated into phenomena’s we can understand, categorize, accept and control. As a shadow of the status quo, the alienated shapes the depth of society by concealing its current reflection and full potential both in contentment and in terror.

As emerging artists of the Arctic areas, we ask you to use your creative artistic process to explore what alienation is or isn’t in a world where you are negotiating it's terms.  Welcome to Alien Threshold, the next step is ____________________________.
