Helena Junttila is a painter from Lapland, Finland. She grew up in Kittilä and in Aska, Sodankylä in Northern Finland. She graduated 1989 from Vapaa taidekoulu ammatillinen linja ( Free Art School/professional degree programme) in Helsinki.

Her artwork have been presented across the world: Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Germany, France, Hungary, Czech, Spain, Russia, USA, Australia and Japan. Her works are also parts of many public and private collections for example: the Finnish Cultural Foundation, Lapland Fund’s collection, the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation

" I work in various mediums in my art and the subject usually defines the technique of the work. Art means for me mostly learning. Through creation I learn techniques and ways to express myself, but also discipline and philosophy of life, that many times humiliates me in front of the canvas called life."

I´m a multidisciplinary visual artist (MA) whose practice focuses on, but it´s not limited to working with environmental and community-related art as my works are extendedly site- and situation-specific by nature.

My work is fueled by the consideration for ecological issues, the urge to study the less known or unseen, and generating unconventional dialogic paths with the communities innately merging into my works.

The visual artist Kaija Kiuru (born 1959 in Sodankylä, Finnish Lapland) has studied sculpture in The Institute of Fine Arts in Lahti, Finland, from1987 to 1991.

Tanja Koistinen (s.1984) is multi-disclipinary artist from the province of Lapland, Finland. In Koistinen's work, the close observation of nature and everyday life are emphasized

The ground of her artistic work is in nature and her cultural roots, that are in Finnish Lapland, Sápmi. She aims to work in and trough her home area, reflecting on variable cultures and connection with other species.

I work instinctively.

Ideas that I seek to capture develop in the process of creating. I usually don’t make blueprints for my works. For me, most of the work takes place months before the actual sculpting.

Pirkko Mäkelä-Haapalinna is a visual artist who works and resides in Kemijärvi.

She is a candidate member in Finnish Painters’ Union, board member of Artists’ Association of Lapland and a member of Pastel Society of America. Mäkelä-Haapalinna’s work has been displayed in numerous solo exhibitions in Finland, and several group exhibitions abroad.

Artist Sauli Johannes Miettunen lives in Karesuvanto.

He was born in 1961 in Haukipudas, Finland. As an artist he mainly produces sculptures.
