Artist of the Month (January 2024) of the Artists’ Association of Lapland
A visual artist born in Nurmes and living in Rovaniemi, Kalervo Räyhä (b. 1970) has seen his artwork displayed in a variety of solo and group exhibitions across Finland. While painting is where Räyhä found his feet, he is no stranger to printmaking or sculpting either. He is also available for commissioned art such as portrait paintings. Räyhä’s work has been characterized as naivistic, primitive, provocative, stand-taking and cartoonish, but whichever way one might label it, his art seldom leaves anyone indifferent or unaffected.
