Everything Seethes.
Leaking channels, bodies, thoughts, plans
Full and empty, both seethe
Sweat, milk, intentions
Everything Seethes is a collection of paintings that emerge from corporeality. In these works, painted with
watercolors on canvas and paper, the flow and porosity of existence are present in various forms as leaking bodies,
from which sensations, emotions, and fluids seep, flow, and splash. People are part of a constantly circulating
watery system, where decay and growth occur in the same swamp, and tears and laughter are close companions.
Sirkku Rosi (b. 1987) works primarily with watercolor and performance art. She is interested in the absurd poetics
of everyday gestures and the body as a site of thought. Her works focus on corporeality, porous skin as a leaking
boundary between the human and the enviroment, and shared being.
Rosi has held numerous exhibitions in Finland and abroad, and her works are part of collections such as the
Tampere Art Museum and the State Art Collection. Educated at both Aalto University and the Academy of Fine Arts
of the University of the Arts Helsinki, Rosi explores the connection between bodily and visual art, the lived body,
and carnality as a primal experience. Her works embody a restrained carnival of flesh.
