My original thought was to visualize the passage of time and the ways how time can be seen in fabrics and clothes. However as the work progressed, the visualization of time has unconcideredly turned into a kind of portrayal of timelessness and stagnation.
The exhibition features textile pieces constructed from materials that have been exposed to sunlight for several months and studies on burying garments in the ground. Nature has modified textiles in its own way which has brought unpredictable elements to these works.
Burying a garment in the ground is a rather absurd act, but it is also exciting. The soil modifies the textile material and leaves its mark on the fabric quickly. As part of the exhibition, visitors are invited to take a garment to be buried so that others can also experience and observe the act of burying.
