Support our cause to wipe ice-cream off your face! The Artists Association of Lapland raised discussions on Arctification and dialogue on De-Arctification through arts.
Many -below and above the arctic circle- have an interest in seeing the Arctic just as a big ball of ice-cream: strawberry pink of polar skies and creamy white of snowy forests. This is a phenomenon, known as ‘Arctification’, by which partial and simplistic views and ideas are fabricated, imposed and sustained on the Arctic, to suit political and economical agendas and/or a widespread naive sentimentality.
Wiping the Ice-Cream Off Your Face – exhibition seminars are open to the public on 12.-13.8. Check information on speakers and the links to streaming closer to the event. Please note that we follow EEST time zone.
