Studio Mustanapa

Rikkinäiset puhelimet -projekti alkoi menetyksestä. Vuonna 2020 me kolme menetimme isämme. Elämme kolmessa eri maassa, joita voitaisiin ajatella eri kulttuureina, mutta kuoleman kokemus on yhteinen. Broken telephone(s) -näyttely esittelee tilasidonnaisen installaation, jossa teokset luovat vuoropuhelun menetyksistä.

This project started from a shared experience: loss. In 2020 the three of us lost our fathers. We live in three different countries that could be thought of as different cultures, but this emptiness surpasses our own stories to become the stories of many. By combining narratives from various sources, including our own accounts, we lend an ear to those no longer present.

Henri Tuomisen uusien teosten yhtenä innoittajana on toiminut suomen kielen sana kuolinpesä. Sana pitää sisällään kuoleman ja pesän, molemmat assosioituvat eri suuntiin: kuolema johonkin tuntemattomaan, tyhjyyteen, kaiken päättymiseen – pesä lämpöön, kotiin ja turvaan. Näyttelyn keskiössä ovat abstrahoidut, ekspressiiviset teokset, jotka käsittelevät alkamisen, kasvun, päättymisen ja jatkuvuuden teemoja arkisen pienessä mittakaavassa.

One of the inspirations for Henri Tuominen's latest works has been the Finnish word kuolinpesä, which combines the words death and nest. These words evoke contrasting images: one connected to the unknown, emptiness and the end of everything, while the other brings to mind warmth, home, and safety. The exhibition introduces abstract and expressive works that explore themes of beginning, growth, end, and continuity within the confines of everyday life.

Kuukauden taiteilijamme manttelia kantaa tammikuussa 2024 Kalervo Räyhä, jonka taidetta on luokiteltu mm. naivistiseksi, primitiiviseksi, provosoivaksi, kantaaottavaksi ja sarjakuvamaiseksi, mutta luokitteli sen miten hyvänsä, kylmäksi se harvemmin jättää ketään.

In January 2024, Kalervo Räyhä takes on the mantle of the Association's Artist of the Month. Räyhä's work has been characterized as naivistic, primitive, provocative, stand-taking and cartoonish, but whichever way one might label it, his art seldom leaves anyone indifferent or unaffected.

Galleria Kellokas, Äkäslompolo

Galleria Kellokkaassa on joulu-tammikuussa esillä tamperelaisen taiteilijaparin Inka Hannulan ja Teemu Raudaskosken värikkäitä ja abstrakteja yhteismaalauksia. Näyttelyn nimessä yllätys viittaa tekoprosessiin, jossa teoksia ei suunnitella etukäteen, vaan kaikki syntyy hetkessä improvisoiden ja vuorovaikutuksessa toisen kanssa.

Gallery Kellokas, Äkäslompolo

Colorful and abstract co-paintings of Inka Hannula and Teemu Raudaskoski on display at Gallery Kellokas from December to January. The name of the exhibition refers to the process of creation, where the works are not planned in advance. Everything is created in the moment by improvising and interacting with the other.
